How is the treatment modality determined in patients presenting with ovarian cysts at a young age?

In patients presenting with ovarian cysts at a young age, the type of treatment is determined according to factors such as the nature of the existing cyst, its potential to damage the ovary and fertility, malignancy (cancer) risk, and the patient's desire for fertility.

Sometimes medication, sometimes follow-up and sometimes surgery may be decided. Ovarian cyst surgery is sometimes performed by open surgery and sometimes by laparoscopy, usually by closed method. In endometrioma, chocolate cyst or dermoid cyst, it is very important to preserve ovarian reserve in young patients. Follow-up and treatment differ according to the individual factors of the patients. Pathological diagnosis is essential.
